Farmington
Fresh provides the Original Apple in a Bag. We have
been producing our sliced apple produce since 1997,
and are located in the heart of California’s great
Central Valley, amidst the most fertile soil in the
world. At Farmington Fresh, we are committed to bringing
you the highest quality conventional and organic sliced
apple product in the Fresh Cut marketplace today.
Sweet Apple Bites is produced at our huge, multi million
dollar packaging facility that is located right off
HWY 99, in Stockton California. We source
our apples, mostly Gala, Fuji and Pink Lady from the
abundant orchards of California’s Central Valley,
which is widely regarded as the World’s Premier
Agricultural producing region.
As innovators in the Fresh Cut Apple business, Farmington
started slicing Apples in 1997, when the idea was thought
to be little more than a novelty
in the Fresh Cut Produce Business. Farmington Fresh
spent a lot of time test marketing the product Sweet
Apple Bites, and many changes have occurred within the
product.
Over the years we have been able to extend the shelf
life of our product from 12 days to 21 days. We use
a special sealant on sliced apples. The process is a
proprietary secret but we believe that it ensures a
higher quality, and better end tasting product; all
without the use of earlier technologies that made the
apple taste like it has lemon juice on them.
We like to emphasize the “Sweet” in Sweet
Apple Bites because we are talking about fresh-cut value
added apples. Everyone likes a Sweet snack. And with
the product not being variety specific, we have the
flexibility of using the sweetest available varieties
like the Gala, Pink Lady, or Fuji apples all the time.
That is where there is the most demand. However, if
our customers prefer a Green variety or Tart fruit,
then we offer the Granny Smith apple variety. Instead
of having the label variety specific, we call them Red or Green.
